It's just hair—so why not share a little for a great cause? Monday marks the 7th Annual It's Just Hair Cut-a-Thon at the Taylor Brooks Salon in Alpharetta, and you can help!
The event was organized by a local mom and her daughters to benefit kids who suffer from medical-related hair loss. All of the hair that's donated will go to Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs for kids in need.
The cut-a-thon was started because Diane Cooley's daughter, Jenna, was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease when she was little. It caused her to lose 50 percent of her hair. She's since grown most of it back, but her mom says many children with the same condition aren't as lucky.
Cooley says Jenna still deals with occasional hair loss, including her eyebrows and eyelashes.
To donate to the cause, you must have 10 or more inches of hair to cut. If you'd like to participate in Monday's event, make an appointment from noon to 8 p.m. at the Taylor Brooks Salon in Alpharetta.
