KAYENTA, Ariz. (AP) - State Department of Transportation crews are preparing to repave a 14-mile stretch of US 160 about 25 miles west of Kayenta.
The $6.5 million project begins Monday and is expected to be complete by September.
Crews will remove a layer of the existing asphalt and replace it with new pavement. They're also putting in new cattle guards and a guardrail.
Traffic lanes will be narrowed and the speed limit reduced during the work hours, which are scheduled sunrise to sunset Monday through Thursday.
