A judge has extended the deadline for all scientific testing evidence to be filed in the murder trial of 39-year-old Jeffery Trevino, which was set to begin later this month.
Following the discovery of Kira Trevino's body in early May, the discovery of additional evidence prompted an extension request, and Ramsey County prosecutors were granted the deadline in a May 15 motion hearing. Judge Leonardo Castro set the deadline for the prosecution to divulge all evidence for June 21.
Jeffrey Trevino is charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the death of his 30-year-old wife. St. Paul police believe he killed Kira Trevino in late February inside the home they shared in St. Paul. He has pleaded not guilty, and his trial has been delayed until July 22.
