PHILADELPHIA -

If your teenage son told you he wanted out of your care you would probably just send him to his room.

Well, not if you're Will Smith.

It seems his son wants out for his 15th birthday, and the Philly actor isn't exactly against the idea.

The Overbrook native says in an interview that his son, Jaden, wants to be an emancipated minor.

The teen says he wants to live on his own and get his own place to live.

Smith says he and his wife do not punish their kids and understand if they want to take command of their lives.
