Caroline Kennedy selected juror in crack dealer case

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) - Caroline Kennedy will sit on a Manhattan jury of an accused crack dealer.

She was selected Monday to serve as a juror at the trial of Nelson Chatman in state Supreme Court.

The only surviving child of President John F. Kennedy and the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis didn't mention whether any member of her family had been a victim of a crime.

When asked if she or any member of her family had close ties to law enforcement, Kennedy said her brother once worked as an assistant district attorney. The late John F. Kennedy Jr. had worked in the Manhattan DA's office.

In response to another question, she said she knew "a few people" with a drug problem.

Pull out your smartphone on any given day, tap on Instagram and you'll find a lot of selfies. But while the rest of us clog our feeds with our best pouty faces, a group of photographers scales and then hangs off bridges and buildings in a contest to produce the most daring photograph in New York City.

Burger chain Five Guys is testing the adage that everything tastes better with bacon. It is rolling out a customizable milkshake program and along with bananas, peanut butter, Oreo cookies, salted caramel, you can chose bacon.  Yes that's right: a bacon milkshake.

When 826 NYC, a nonprofit organization that fosters creative writing skills, asked children ages 9-12 to dream up the ultimate lemonade stand, the responses were huge. The winning project of  The Great Lemonation Imagination Collaboration was turned into a real lemonade stand complete with free lemonade in Manhattan's Flatiron District. The organization's members were also required to help run the stand that went up at Broadway and 23rd Street on Wednesday.
