NY woman survives 75-foot slide in car

STONY POINT, N.Y. (AP) - A New York woman who drove 75 feet down an embankment in Bear Mountain State Park walked away unscathed.

Stony Point Fire Chief Joseph Robinson says the woman refused medical attention.

The 2008 Nissan ran off Perkins Memorial Drive, off Seven Lakes Drive, in an area with no guardrails. It occurred around 3 p.m. Sunday.

It wasn't clear what caused the car to go off the winding road.

Firefighters used ropes to lower themselves down the steep incline and hoisted the woman on a stretcher to the street.

Robison said the car hit several trees but appeared to be "fixable."

The driver was only identified as a resident of Pearl River in Rockland County.

Danyluk, 27, of Cuero, Texas, was wounded during a firefight with insurgents in Pul-e-Alam, Logar province on April 12, 2014, the Pentagon said. The military flew him to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, where he died three days later.

    This guy packs more than pepperoni. Police say a masked robber is in the hospital after a pizza delivery man shot at a gang of would-be thieves.
