NYPD looking for suspect responsible for several bank robberies

Police are searching for the suspect wanted for series of bank robberies Friday in Manhattan. 

The suspect entered five different banks and verbally demanded money before fleeing on Friday. In two of the robberies, the suspect was able to leave with an unknown amount of money. 

Police say the thefts Friday happened between 12:50 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. The suspect entered two Chase banks, two Capital One banks and one Bank of America. 

According to police, the same suspect on April 12 robbed a Chase and a Sovereign Bank where he fled with an unknown amount of money.     

Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect who is described as White, 25-30 years old, 5'10"-6'0" and weighing 180-200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark leather jacket with a gray shirt with a NY Jets logo.

    Police have taken into custody the woman believed to have tried to push a stroller with a baby inside away from a nanny in Chelsea. Tara Anne McDonald, 46, was being evaluated at a hospital Friday night. The attempted kidnapping occurred on 8th Ave. and 17th St. at about 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, police said.
