DETROIT (WJBK) -

A bad boy had no bones about barging into Tom's Oyster Bar in downtown Detroit, scaling fences, breaking glass and kicking down doors.

"Kept breaking into my place over and over and over again," said owner Tony Sokol.  "He would get in by almost any means necessary.  Every time we'd block one way off, he'd figure out another way to get in."

It actually happened eight times according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

"A lot of damage was done to the place.  I had to repair doors, windows, stuff like that," Sokol said.

This trespasser was not floundering for seafood, and it was not cash this crook was after.  It was liquor.

"As many as he could fit in his backpack, about four or five bottles of liquor at a time," Sokol said.

Criminals don't stop until the get enough, and this one was on a roll said Sheriff Benny Napoleon.

"Criminals have what is called a predator trail, and they work a trail that they're comfortable with, and they commit the crimes that they're comfortable committing," he explained.  "This person knows... how to get in.  They know what's there, and they believe they can get in and get out."

"It's not a series of a whole bunch of different guys.  It's been the same guy on tape every time," Sokol said.

"Generally if a person has had a problem with break-ins and they're repeated break-ins, it's generally the same person over and over," Napoleon said.

Thursday afternoon, 49-year-old Leslie Jerome Griffin was picked up by county cops on a parole violation.  Law enforcement believes he is also responsible for the break-ins.

Police will be trying to figure out if the suspect is connected to other crimes, possibly more break-ins.
