Eden Prairie police said Thursday that law enforcement agencies in Stearns and Wright counties are searching sections of the Mississippi River in the search for 24-year-old Mandy Matula.
Police released maps to highlight several areas of interest. They have narrowed down the areas in which Matula might be located to Carver, Wright, Stearns, Sherburne and Benton counties.

Matula has been missing since the evening of May 1. David Roe, an ex-boyfriend described as a person of interest in the case, committed suicide before police could question him.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call 952-949-6200.
Volunteer searchers in the metro also planned to begin posting signs at 100 relevant water access points listed in the search area. They hope to have them all in place before Saturday's fishing opener to encourage anglers to also keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

A donation fund has also been set up for the Matula family at Wells Fargo. Checks can be made out to the Mandy Matula Fund at any branch, and donations can also be made online through PayPal.
Matula's family also hopes volunteer searchers will continue to keep the family of another missing Minnesota woman in their minds as well as they search. A Facebook page focused on finding Matula as well as Danielle Jelinek has also been founded.
