Secret fitness motivation strategies

FOX 9 Fitness Expert Ali Holman from has been in the business of motivating people for almost 20 years. She stopped by to give us some her SECRET motivation tricks she uses and encourages her CoreCampers to do as well.

The Popsicle Stick Workout: Write exercises on popsicle sticks and place in a cup. Workout with the family, taking turns pulling out the exercise task from the cup!

The Dollar Challenge: Set your Goal for 5 workouts a week. Place 5 singles in one cup, none in the other. The goal is to move each dollar bill over during the week, representing a workout done. At the end of the week, treat yourself to a coffee!

The Circle: Many of us don't want to announce we are on a clean eating or exercise plan, but it is nice to remind ourselves throughout the day of our goal we committed to. Place circle stickers (Ali likes a bright color!) around the places you are most (car, bathroom mirror, door to garage, fridge)--each time you look at it, it will mentally put you back on track and remind you of your goal.

The Deck of Cards Challenge: Kids love this one! Have 3 exercises written down (i.e. squats, pushups, lunges). Go through the deck of cards, with each card representing the # or reps. to do. Go through the deck 3 times, each time focusing on one exercise, or mix them up!
