Bloomington mom says missing father and daughter are in Vermont
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (KMSP) -
Bloomington police confirmed they were searching for a 7-year-old girl and her father after the two went missing on Saturday, but the girl's mother tells FOX 9 News she has reason to believe her family is in Vermont.
Alyssa Mariel-Lorraine Lafountain and her father, David Charles Lafountain, were last seen Saturday morning in a 2007 teal Chrysler Town and Country minivan with either Minnesota license plate number 789 LKP or prior-issued Vermont plate number FFL 711.
Police say there is no reason to arrest David, but they want to check on Alyssa's welfare as she has food allergies and is fed a very specific diet through a feeding tube. Police were unsure if David is capable of caring for her.
On Sunday afternoon, Cindy Lafountain contacted FOX 9 News to say she had received a text message from her husband to say the two were in Vermont and that Alyssa is apparently doing fine.
By Sunday night, the BCA canceled an alert related to the pair, saying they were confirmed to be safe.
