MARIETTA, Ga. -
Police say they've apprehended a Paulding County man accused of fondling himself near a Civil War battlefield and then charging at two women, knocking one of them down.
Cobb County police say 34-year-old William John Jacobson Jr. of Dallas, Ga. was taken into custody Wednesday.
Cobb County Jail records show that he faces charges of simple assault, simple battery and public indecency. The jail records do not indicate whether he has an attorney.
Two women told police they were walking in Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park northwest of Atlanta when they saw a man in the woods. They say the man, nude from the waist down, was fondling himself. Police said the man charged at the women as he tried to get away, knocking one of them to the ground.
