WHITEHAVEN, Tenn. (FOX13) -

Here's something you don't see every day.

A Memphis police cruiser ended up on a light pole Monday evening in Whitehaven near Whitehaven High School.

According to a Memphis Police report, Officer Jonathan Bond was traveling southbound on Elvis Presley Boulevard when he observed a vehicle pass him with in which the driver was not wearing a seat belt.

Officer Bond attempted to turn around to address the traffic violation when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the curb and guy wire of a utility pole on the north side of Whitehaven Lane.

The force of striking the guy wire caused Officer Bond's marked squad car to run up the utility pole and come to a rest. The traffic accident took place between the high school and middle school.

No injuries were reported from the scene.

Police say the officer was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Proper Control and Striking a Fixed Object.
