A 17-year-old boy is dead and three others are in the hospital after a burst of gunfire on the 1100 block of Upland Street in Chester. Police say it happened around 5:45 pm Saturday.
Police say the group was hit by suspects that may have been driving by in a vehicle. A 16-year-old boy was shot in the thigh. Two other men, ages 18 and 41 were shot in the buttocks and chest respectively.
Sources say about 20 rounds were fired from three different weapons.
Meanwhile dozens of family and friends of the victims gathered outside Crozer Chester Medical Center for news on their loved ones. Loud cries could be heard from one group, likely related to the 17-year-old that died.
Police say they need witnesses to come forward with information that may lead to the suspects.
Winter Storm Warnings are now in effect for where the heaviest snow has set up. They include Philadelphia, Delaware, New Castle, Camden, Gloucester, Burlington, Cumberland and E. Chester Counties. Warnings in effect till midnight.
The heaviest snow will drop 4-6" from Wilmington through Philly to Trenton. The highest amounts will be New Castle Co through interior south Jersey, 6-8+" possible.
