Patrick Kennedy on Smart Colorado, overturning legal marijuana law

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Patrick Kennedy, former Rhode Island congressman and son of Ted Kennedy, spoke on his involvement with Smart Colorado, an organization that wants to overturn the law legalizing marijuana.

Colorado recently passed a constitutional amendment permitting anyone over 21 the right to smoke, distribute, transport and grow marijuana.

Kennedy spoke on the state law's implications for Colorado and the rest of the nation and why he is against legalization of marijuana.

The former congressman is from the East Coast, but he wanted to get involved in this debate. Smart Colorado is also trying to minimize the negative impact marijuana has on society. Kennedy spoke on those impacts with Good Day Chicago on Friday morning.
