Man Orders Levittown Child Biking Home From School To Get In Car

LEVITTOWN, Pa. -

Police and local schools are warning parents of an attempted child luring in a Levittown neighborhood.

"It's disturbing. It really is," said Dennis Hale. He's worried about his 8-year-old son Evan walking to school in the morning.

"I didn't expect that to happen around here, but it just keeps happening everywhere," said Hale. He's talking about an incident where a man yelled at a child to get in his car. It happened while the fourth grader was riding his bike home from Walter Miller Elementary in Levittown Monday.

"You're afraid something is going to happen and it could be your child," Hale said.

Police say the man was driving a light blue or silver car. The kid acted fast, took off on his bike and got away. Maureen Criscuolo said the school sent letters home with students, including her son Anthony. It warned of the incident. She also read about it on Facebook. Criscuolo immediately had a talk with her son.

She told him, "You are to run, scream and make as much noise as possible."  Anthony walks to school with other kids. Still, Criscuolo hopes if the man strikes again and approaches her son, he'll remember what to do.

"You think your children would know but it' scary. My children aren't as street smart as I would think," she said.

The man may be in his 30's with dark short hair. The car is light blue or silver with a dent on the back. If you see anything, call Middletown Township Police.
