Altoona, Wis. couple killed in slushy I-94 crash

Two people from Altoona, Wis. died in a crash Monday evening on Interstate 94 between Baldwin and Menomonie.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a car lost control on a slush-covered stretch of I-94 in St. Croix County around 6:46 p.m. The car went into the median, struck a guardrail and rolled down a hill before coming to rest on Norseman Road.

85-year-old Harvey Wick and 84-year-old Ruth Wick died of their injuries. One passenger, 54-year-old Judy Harris of Spooner, Wis., suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
