PHOENIX -

Police have arrested a mother after finding her 8-month-old baby living in close proximity to meth, guns and knives.

Migdeline Medina-Felix, 18, is facing child abuse and drug possession charges. Police say they were called to her home, located near 55th Ave and Encanto, for a shots fired call on Sunday.

When officers responded, they found a rifle, handgun, steak knives on the floor, and 2 to 6 pounds of meth. A firearm had been discharged in the home, but no one was hurt.

Medina-Felix allegedly admitted to knowing the drugs were in the home.

The child is in custody of Child Protective Services.
