Moody`s: High Ill. unemployment rate due to business climate, education

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A new report from Moody's says the poor business climate and education system in Illinois are causing higher unemployment in the state.

The unemployment rate in Illinois now stands at 9.5%. That's almost two points higher than the national average.

Only California and Mississippi have higher unemployment rates.

Many businesses say jobs they do have often go unfilled because applicants simply don't have the job skills or training needed to fill them.
