Volunteers help lacrosse team remove 1,000,000 pounds of snow
EDINA, Minn. (KMSP) -
A simple look out the window makes on thing clear: Winter isn't going away.
The latest round of winter weather has caused delays in the Edina lacrosse team's season. So the team, along with a group of volunteers, decided to grab a shovel and take matters into their own hands.
Starting at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, players and volunteers gathered at Edina's home field, Kuhlman Stadium, to do their part to get lacrosse season underway.
Using shovels, since brushes and plows would harm the turf, the group clear a field 360' X 240 feet. The field was covered in approximately 8 inches of snow, meaning over 1,000,000 pounds of snow was removed.
Now, they just need to the weather to start cooperating.
