PA Narcotics Agents Bust $7 Million Meth Ring

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. -

A meth ring that allegedly distributed $7 million worth of the drug for five years from Mexico to Lehigh Valley was broken up by Pennsylvania narcotics agents, investigators announced Wednesday.

The bust was the result of a 15-month investigation that led to the arrest of 23 suspected drug dealers and traffickers, the state attorney general's office said.

According to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, the ring involved large amounts of the drug that would be acquired from a source in Mexico and then delivered to a location in Las Vegas, Nevada. The drug was then packaged and shipped using FedEx to the Lehigh Valley, according to the attorney general's office.

Investigators say an alleged member of the ring would then supply the crystal meth to another alleged member for distribution.

Narcotics agents estimate the organization is responsible for distributing at least four pounds of crystal methamphetamine a month with an estimated street value of $7 million over the past five years.

Using wiretaps, agents say they were able to determine the organization also sold marijuana throughout the Lehigh Valley.

Agents say they confiscated more than 100 handguns and rifles, thousands of dollars in cash, six cars, four motorcycles, a four wheeler and various amounts of drug paraphernalia over the course of their investigation.

You can see the mug shots of the defendants in the slideshow above, provided by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.
