MINNEAPOLIS WEATHER: 4 to 10 inches of April snow - KMSP-TV

TIME FOR SPRING? 4 to 10 inches of snow in Twin Cities

Friday morning snowfall totals in the Twin Cities metro ranged between 4 inches and 10 inches of sloppy, heavy snow.

We only have a few light flakes, flurries and drizzle left Friday morning with no additional real accumulations. Temperatures will stay in the 30s Friday and snow tapers and the clouds attempt to break up.

The true clearing occurs tonight as temperatures plunge to record lows near 20 degrees. After some patchy fog Saturday morning, we'll see plenty of sunshine and highs around 40 for Saturday afternoon.

This final April snowfall puts the Twin Cities at a total of five feet of snow for the 2012-13 winter season.

Since noon Thursday, Minnesota troopers in the Twin Cities responded to 406 crashes, including 48 with injuries and one deadly crash on Interstate 94.

Troopers also helped 787 drivers with spinouts and requests for assistance

St. Paul canceled it's citywide cleanup event due to the second round of snow. It will not be held this year, but the city will still provide trash bags at the Como Office, located at 1100 North Hamline Ave., to provide trash bags for volunteers. Anyone who is unable to visit the office during normal business hours can call 651-632-2411 to make arrangements.
