Gas main break shuts down Lawrenceville Highway

The intersection of Lawrenceville Highway and DeKalb Industrial Way was shut down due to a broken gas main on Wednesday.  It has since reopened. The intersection of Lawrenceville Highway and DeKalb Industrial Way was shut down due to a broken gas main on Wednesday. It has since reopened.

DeKalb County fire crews say the intersection of Lawrenceville Highway and DeKalb Industrial Way is back open after being shut down due to a broken gas main.

Authorities say construction crews accidentally hit the four-inch line on Wednesday morning.  Ten area businesses have been evacuated. 

Lawrenceville Highway is closed from Orion Drive to Church Street in both directions, but the road was expected to reopen before 6 p.m.
