A Long Island woman is accused of a crazed attack on her ex-boyfriend with a pair of pliers.
Nassau County Police say it happened Tuesday evening in Elmont.
Police say that Tricia Mercier, 23, repeatedly called her 45-year-old ex-boyfriend at his home at about 5:30 p.m.
The calls were described as "alarming in nature" and were in violation of an order of protection which the victim had against her.
A few minutes later the victim heard a horn honking in front of his home and saw Mercier sitting in her car.
Police say she then got into his apartment and attacked him with a pair of pliers. The man suffered cuts and bruising and his glasses were broken in the attack.
He needed to be transported to a hospital. His condition was unclear but his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
Mercier was arrested and charged with burglary, assault, criminal mischief and weapons charges.
She was expected to be arraigned on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Hempstead. It was unclear if she had a lawyer.
