Durbin calls on FDA to restrict sale of e-cigarettes to kids

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A group of U.S. Senators wants the Food and Drug Administration to crack down on e-cigarettes.

Electronic cigarettes are battery-powered and use capsules to deliver nicotine without smoke.

The lawmakers--including Illinois Senator Dick Durbin--say it is legal for anyone to buy e-cigarettes which could lead to regular smoking and tobacco use, especially with kids.

The senators are asking the FDA to regulate how e-cigarettes are sold and marketed.
