Twins looking to keep fans warm

Posted: Updated:

The Twins return home for a weekend series against the New York Mets and while the weather will be a factor, the team is committed to playing all three games despite the temperature or the presence of snow.

Crews shoveled snow in the stands and melted more snow located in the stair aisles with hot water all in the name of playing nine. The Twins released a statement during Thursday's snow talking about the Mets and their one trip to Minnesota.

"As always, we make every effort to play the game as scheduled and we currently plan to play on Friday night. Any decision to postpone the game won't be made until sometime Friday. Since this is the only visit by the Mets this year, it is important that we play the game if at all possible especially considering that the weekend forecast (Sunday) is also questionable."

The Twins sent out a not Friday afternoon saying they along with concession and retail partner Delaware North Sportservice they will provide fans at the game Friday night with free coffee and hot chocolate.
