Wet, Windy Friday Continues

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The rain that has been plaguing the area since very early Friday morning was still with us but was starting to ease up just after lunchtime, FOX 29's Sue Serio said.

A couple of complex frontal systems have made it a very dreary, wet and windy end of the workweek.

Some of the precipitation was around the Philadelphia area around noon, but the cold front had yet to come through.

We escaped most of the early thunderstorm activity, and we could be in a dry slot this afternoon in Philadelphia. But our Futurecast shows spotty showers in the area through the afternoon and into the evening.

"It's really not going to get out of here until around midnight, and by then we'll probably end up with a half-an-inch of rain, by the time all is said and done. So, nothing extreme and no flooding problems that we anticipate," Serio said.

We'll get to a high of 62 degrees with rain and maybe even a few downpours and perhaps even a thunderstorm or two.

But, after tonight, the showers taper off and we get some patchy fog overnight.
