Hundreds of flights canceled at Minneapolis Airport - KMSP-TV

MSP AIRPORT: Hundreds of flights canceled by Midwest snowstorm

Posted: Updated:
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport canceled hundreds of flights Thursday morning.

They will need to close one runway at a time intermittently to plow and de-ice planes between flights, causing flight delays.

MSP spokesman Pat Hogan told FOX 9 that the ground is warm and there is less snow than expected, but the crosswind is also an issue as flights attempt to depart on time.

While Minneapolis weather is a major component, some cancellations are due to other airport and weather problems in the Midwest and East Coast, Hogan said.
