METRO TRANSIT: Light rail service resumes

Posted: Updated:
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Light rail service resumed in downtown Minneapolis Thursday morning a few hours after ice buildup on the overhead power lines forced Metro Transit to shut down the entire Hiawatha line.

Full light rail service has now resumed between Minneapolis and Bloomington.

Replacement buses were used while portions of the line were out of service.

At 11 a.m., 85 percent of buses were running on time, average delay was less than 5 minutes. See light rail replacement bus boarding locations at http://metrotransit.org/light-rail-delays-due-to-weather-conditions

The Northstar commuter rail is on time.
