Joe Eckert of Consumers Energy says the winning idea could be big or small.
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -
As part of the Pure Michigan Social Entrepreneurship Challenge, THAW and Consumers Energy are looking for innovative ideas to make energy more affordable.
Winners will receive $5,000 and $10,000 cash prizes for the best social venture and the best new business idea to encourage a reduction in energy use.
"It could be as big as changing the delivery system to as small as an individual household and how they can manage their energy more efficiently, more effectively," says Joe Eckert of Consumers Energy.
Winners will also get coaching and mentorship to help make their idea a reality. You have to register by April 10th to participate. To register, please visit www.gleq.org.
