Atlanta Housing Authority execs have high salaries

The Atlanta Housing Authority's chief is perhaps best known for tearing down Atlanta's housing projects, but she's also one of the nation's highest paid public housing officials.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/YUX2Nn ) that a five-year contract has CEO Renee Glover's salary at $325,000. But records obtained by the newspaper show that other members of Glover's management team are also paid handsomely.
About 10 percent of the agency's employees make more than $150,000 a year and nearly 20 percent earn more than $100,000. Data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development show that only 3 percent of public housing executives nationwide pull in more than $155,500.
Glover defends the salaries, saying they're necessary to attract high-skilled managers. Critics say the high salaries are exorbitant.
