NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Cops arrested a man they say they witnessed shooting at someone in broad daylight on a street in Brooklyn on Tuesday, according to the NYPD.

Officers with an anti-crime team said Kevon Ferrell, 20, opened fire with a .380-caliber pistol at the corner of Bedford Avenue and Carroll Street in Crown Heights at about 2:20 p.m. April 2.

Ferrell then took off on Carroll Street and ditched the gun, the NYPD said.

Security camera video shows the suspect fleeing westbound on Carroll Street, then doubling back and running south on Bedford with an unmarked police vehicle in pursuit.

Cops soon caught up to the suspect at Bedford Avenue and Crown Street, where they arrested him, police said.

Officers recovered the semiautomatic handgun from outside 1007 Carroll Street, police said.

Authorities charged Ferrell with criminal possession of a loaded firearm, reckless endangerment, and attempted assault.

Apparently no one was wounded in the gunfire.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
