ST. PETER, Minn. (KMSP) -

Nicollet County dropped a case Tuesday against 86-year-old Margaret Schneider after she had been accused of voter fraud.

Schneider, who lives in St.Peter, told FOX 9 that she didn't remember having voted absentee when she went to the polls on Election Day. Schneider suffers from Parkinson's disease as well as dementia.

Although the county attorney argued that she did vote twice, her record is clean.

Her record will be cleared if she has no other voting infractions by November of next year.

Schneider said an honest mistake caused her to face the felony charge, but she has always taken her voting responsibility very seriously and has participated on Election Day each year, age permitting.
