FOX 9 Exclusive: Jeff Passolt one-on-one with Tom Barnard
Twin Cities radio legend Tom Barnard has a reputation as one of the angriest men in Minnesota, and it made him millions. But that same anger may be taking a toll on his personal life. After going on a profanity laced tirade on twitter overnight where he criticized the sales staff at KQRS radio, Barnard announced on his show this morning that he's entering into treatment for substance abuse to get a handle on alcohol, anger and anxiety.
"I think it was part of the problem. I kept myself so isolated from everyone and everything," B arnard told FOX 9's Jeff Passolt. "I think it really fed into this problem that I have with anger management, tons of anxiety, depression, things like that."
While Barnard's no stranger to controversy he says this is about living a healthier life both on and off the air. At first Barnard said he would be leaving the station to go into rehab but now says he'll get out-patient treatment and will be back on the air next week.
