Mar Yvette's Weekend Roundup

Four Seasons, B.Toffee, Papa Ben's Kitchen and Agape International Choir

Posted: Updated:

FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!

Here's more information about the guests we featured:

Four Seasons

Easter Sunday brunch really doesn't get any better than at the Four Seasons Los Angeles in Beverly Hills. Not only is the space pretty and the service top notch, but there are countless stations ranging from carving, dim sum, sushi, farmers market picks and seafood to desserts, a kids station and a stunning Easter display of giant chocolate bunnies and eggs. Executive chef Ashley James and pastry chef Federico Fernandez outdo themselves every year and the food is so beautifully presented you won't be able to control yourself from going back for seconds (or thirds). And that's quite alright. Easter brunch (and every Sunday brunch) is all you can eat, so make sure you show up hungry ... and ready to spot a celebrity or two. This is Beverly Hills, after all.

B.Toffee

If you're still looking for some great Easter basket fillers, look no further than B. Toffee. These delectable treats are handcrafted in Newport Beach by Betsy Thagard who uses only the finest, freshest and most natural ingredients. We're talking savory butters, fine domestic sugars and premium Guittard and Callebaut chocolates topped with gourmet pecans. Yum!

 Papa Ben's Kitchen

It's Passover and after eating matzos all week, you're going to need a delicious treat. Which means it's time to dig into some mandelbroyt from Papa Ben's Kitchen. Created by "Papa" Ben Lesser and his family, mandelbroyt (Yiddish for "almond bread") is a twice-baked cookie that's sort of like the Jewish version of Italian biscotti. Got it? The scrumptious snack comes in five flavors including the original family recipe, minty dark chocolate, chocolate espresso bean, lemon blueberry and (my personal fave) spicy chipotle with ginger. A portion of all sale proceeds goes to the Zachor Foundation, which Papa Ben, himself a concentration camp and Holocaust survivor, created to help keep Holocaust remembrance alive.

Agape International Choir

You don't have to be religious to get your church on with the Agape International Choir. This renowned group based in Culver City has performed in such prestigious venues as Lincoln Center, the United Nations and the Greek Theater. Their songs, written by Dr. Rickie Byars Beckwith and Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, are known and sung all over the world in many diverse spiritual services and celebrations. Through their music, this group shares a message of love and unity with the world. Amen!
