Call for fare to fill new Vikings stadium

Posted: Updated:
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority is sifting through fare options that will please the palates of Vikings fans at the new stadium.

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority has put out a request for proposals from catering and concession services for the $975 million dollar stadium, which is expected to be unveiled in 2016.

Will it be able to top Target Field?

Target Field has been touted for its local cuisine and Minnesota inspiration. State Fair Classics -- pork chops on a stick, corn dogs, fried pickles -- Schweigert hot dogs, North Shore Creamery and plenty of Minnesota brews -- Surly, Fulton, Grainbelt and Summit all made the list.

The Minnesota Vikings' new stadium is expected to stay true to its Minnesota roots, but ultimately, the fans will have the last word. Vendors have until April 23 to submit their offering proposals.
