Prospective student horribly burned at ASU frat party

TEMPE, Ariz. -

Tempe Police are poised to hold a press conference Tuesday about a 17-year-old horribly burned at an ASU frat party.

The girl was in town from California touring prospective schools when she attended the Friday night party.

During the party, a male threw a bottle of vodka on a bonfire, which burst into flames and caused severe burns to the girl's legs.

The partygoers did not want to get in trouble, so they made the injured girl leave the party and wait for help down the street, Tempe Police said.

Tempe Police have served a search warrant on the frat house, but no arrests have been made as of yet. Developments in the case will be announced at the press conference.

The victim is recovering at Maricopa County Medical Center's Burn Unit.
