ATLANTA -
Firefighters in downtown Atlanta rushed into a burning building on Thursday to rescue a person who was trapped.
Flames tore through of the old YMCA building on Jesse Hill Jr. Drive. Officials say the fire was on the fourth floor of the building.
"Units were able to affect a rescue and bring the individual down from the fifth floor, and then assist three other people down the interior stairwell from floors above the fire as well," said Battalion Fire Chief Todd Parker of the Atlanta Fire Department.
Firefighters believe the building is being used as a transitional facility. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
