Posted: Updated:

Actor Nicolas Cage talks about his role in the new Dreamworks feature 'The Croods,' which opens nationwide on March 22.

Voice of the father in the film 'The Croods' (Grug), Cage says he enjoyed the story and its ability to pull at the heartstrings while encouraging laughter. "I thought it was just a very positive, magical story," said Cage. I mean I liked the idea of the over protective father who learns to let go and has a better relationship with his daughter because of it." Cage says he enjoyed working with cast members Emma Stone (Eep) and Ryan Reynolds (Guy). He likes a movie that makes viewers laugh and cry.

Cage also talks about back in the day when Johnny Depp lived in his apartment and he encouraged Depp to try acting. Cage says Depp's success is his own and does not take credit.
