Pain killers, antibiotics recalled for possible mold contamination

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Dozens of types of pain killers, antibiotics and other drugs are being recalled because they might be contaminated with mold.

The drugs were all made by "Med Prep," a compounding pharmacy in New Jersey that mixes drugs according to doctor's specifications.

The potentially contaminated drugs were distributed in infusion bags, plastic syringes and glass vials to hospitals on the east coast.

No one has been hurt but last year, a tainted steroid distributed by a Massachusetts-based compounding pharmacy killed 50 people.
