PLYMOUTH, Minn. (KMSP) -

Two students from Wayzata High School were injured on Monday after they were struck by a school bus while they were jogging with their track and field teammates in Plymouth.

The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon outside Plymouth Creek Elementary School on Vicksburg Lane.

Emergency responders treated one student at the scene, but another boy was taken to an area hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

Plymouth police are investigating the crash, and responding officers say the students were struck in a crosswalk. One was grazed by the bus, but the other was hit directly.

It was not immediately clear whether the weather played a role or if the bus driver was at fault. No citations have been issued at this time.

Police said the bus was carrying middle school students at the time of the crash, but no one on the bus was hurt.
