Michael Lohan Goes Off On Lindsay's Lawyer

Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA -

(KTTV) Lindsay Lohan has avoided jail time by pleading "no contest" to a pair of misdemeanor charges stemming from a crash on the PCH. But after the drama inside the courtroom, Lohan's father provided plenty more outside.

I was standing right between Michael Lohan and Mark Heller. I could smell Lohan's breath as he yelled at Heller, "What are you doing here?" He had asked it over and over. Heller's co-counsel Anthony Falangetti answered back that "he (Heller) is here representing his client" and after a few words Lohan yelled an expletive and was physically pulled back by his attorney and a deputy.

Lohan wasn't upset about his daughter's plea deal -- he just doesn't like Heller, saying he makes all kinds of allegations of wrongdoing, and so does his attorney David Wohl of Orange County. Wohl says the Santa Monica City Attorney is investigating Heller for jury tampering. Heller says that's "crazy."

Back to the Lohan-Heller argument. Heller must have been relieved when Lohan was pulled back. I was. I honestly thought Lohan was going to take a pop at Heller and I was in a dangerous place for that.

This all started after Lindsay left the building. Heller walked to a microphone to an awaiting crowd of reporters and photographers. That's when Michael, who didn't like seeing Heller in the limelight, starting shouting at him. Repeatedly he yelled "what's he doing there???" Lohan was incensed that Heller from New York was getting any publicity from his daughter's problems and said so.

During the very public confrontation, that took place on several spots along the courthouse plaza, Lohan made disparaging remarks against the diminutive New York attorney who said nothing back.

When I asked Heller for a reaction, he said there were words, but repeated he and co-counsel got a good deal for their client and that's what concerned them.
