DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (KMSP) -

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol are planning to re-open three highways at 5 p.m.

The following roads have been closed since 11 p.m. Sunday due to heavy snow, high winds and low visibility:

  • Interstate 94 from Moorhead to Alexandria
  • Highway 10 from Moorhead to Audubon
  • Highway 210 from Breckenridge to Fergus Falls

All three roadways will be opened to motorists on Monday evening; however, MnDOT is still listing those roads as "travel not advised" in the following communities:

  • Alexandria
  • Breckenridge
  • Detroit Lakes
  • Fergus Falls
  • Mahnomen
  • Moorhead

MnDOT urges motorists to be patient as plows work to improve the driving conditions, and they stress that the state's "Move Over LAw" requires drivers on roadways with two or more lanes to stay one full lane away when passing a plow or other emergency vehicles.

MnDOT officials also advise against traveling on any highway in west central Minnesota due to blowing snow and low visibility.
