A 16 year-old young man from Romulus is sore, swollen and recovering from a dislocated jaw.
An amateur video shows he was brutally beaten outside a local 7-Eleven, and his family needs help tracking down the suspects.
"It the scariest thing ever. Ever. When I was raised it was not like it is now," said the boy's mother, who wanted to remain anonymous. "Now it's just so scary for any teenager. It really is," she said.
Mom says the horrifying attack was planned, and purposely recorded using a cell phone video camera.
"I couldn't even watch the whole thing," she told Fox 2. "I watched the first few seconds where they said he was at the pop machine. I couldn't even watch it..."
The 16 year-old says he went to the 7-Eleven to buy a slurpee. Two men rushed him the second he walked out the door, and began pounding him with their fists.
A third person recorded the entire attack on his phone, then sent a video message through his phone to countless others.
"They actually waited for him to come out," Mom said. "It was all planned, premeditated. They knew what they were doing and they knew who they were going for."
Now mom wants to know who did this to her son. She fears these thugs may still be out there, possibly looking for another person to target.
She hopes this story will encourage someone who knows something to come forward. In the meantime, she has decided to keep her son out of school.
Wayne Police are looking into the incident. If you have any information, please give them a call.
