Phyllis Webb and Ayo Porte both recorded double-doubles in Osseo's 63-56 win over St. Paul Central Wednesday afternoon.The Orioles used a 9-2 run over the final 3:30 to propell them to the semi-finals where they will face two-time defending state champion Hopkins.
The Orioles fell behind 17-5 early until they seemed to find their legs and going on an 11-0 run to pull the game to within one.
"We always felt as a coaching staff and as a team we could get back into the game," said Osseo head coach John Rieser. "It was just the way we were falling behind."
The Royals defeated Osseo in last years state title game and also beat the Orioles by 46 in late December. Webb led the Orioles with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Porte scored 11 and grabbed 10 boards. Sade Chatman led the way for Central with 14 points.
