Although they put their lives on the line for the country they loved, it still took six decades to build a memorial honoring World War II soldiers in Washington, D.C., and one pilot joined FOX 9 News to explain how he's helping veterans get there to see it.
The Honor Flight program flies World War II veterans to see the monument for free so that they can see the testament to their service, heroism and legacy -- and there is also a documentary film that highlights their journey.
Chuck Skoglund is a pilot with Sun Country, and he volunteers with Honor Flight, piloting 11 trips. He joined FOX 9 News to discuss the organization and what it does.
