The Edina Hornets brought a physical brand of hockey against Duluth East and wore down the Hounds and in the process scoring three straight third period goals to punch their ticket to the championship game with a 3-2 win.
It appeared as though the Hounds were going to employ the same strategy that got them to the semi-finals, a first period goal followed by a gritty performance, holding on for the win. Miguel Fidler was in the right place at the right time as tied the game at 4:11 of the third period. Tyler Nanne and Andy Jordahl scored 19 seconds apart to give the Hornets a commanding two goal cushion.
Meirs Moore made things interesting scoring with 1:46 left in the game, but the Hounds couldn't generate the equalizer and the Hornets punched their ticket to the championship game once again and try to add to their 11 championships.
They will face the winner between Hill-Murray and Wayzata tomorrow at 7PM.
