MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Police have arrested a man after a nine-hour standoff in north Minneapolis.
The incident, taking place on the 3800 block of Aldrich Ave. N., started around 11:30 a.m. on Friday when police received a 911 call that a man had shot at someone in his front yard.
Police and SWAT teams arrived at the scene within minutes, and tried to convince the man to surrender.
Around 5:30 p.m., SWAT team administered tear gas into the house, but even after several rounds, the man would not exit the home.
Shortly after 9 p.m., the man was arrested.
Surrounding neighbors were escorted out of the area by police, but have since returned.
Investigators still do not know what caused the man start shooting.
