Posted: Updated:
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

The Twin Cities metro is under a winter weather advisory from 1 a.m. through 9 a.m. Saturday, with freezing rain and significant rainfall that could lead to street flooding in urban areas.

Snow melt in combination with the rain may also lead to runoff issues.

TIMING: Freezing rain and sleet will push in just after midnight before turning to mainly rain Saturday.

IMPACT: Ice accumulation of 1/10 to 1/4 inch. Freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.

The rain and freezing rain will change to snow Saturday night or early Sunday before ending on Sunday.
