Thieves use flat tire scheme to rob Queens drivers

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) - The NYPD is looking for three suspects who rob drivers after telling them they have a flat tire.

Police say while the victims inspect their tires, the suspects remove items from inside the car.

All the robberies have occurred in Queens. The lastest robbery occurred last Thursday. The scheme goes back to Aug. 9.

WCBS-AM reports that in many of the cases the victims were coming out of banks when the suspects approached them.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800 577-TIPS.
